This year’s MGS Summit, a one-day online event to be held on Wednesday 16 November 2022 and supported by Inside Asian Gaming as Official Lead Media and Production Partner, will incorporate the theme “A NEW E.R.A – Entertainment, Renovation, Alignment”.
Recognizing a number of important changes to Asia’s gaming landscape in recent times, the theme nods the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and the opportunities available as the region begins its road to recovery. It also points to a “new era” for the once dominant gaming hub of Macau with the passing of a new gaming law and the ongoing re-tender process for new 10-year casino concessions.
Under the E.R.A. acronym, “Entertainment” pays reference to the core concept of the global gaming industry while “Renovation” alludes to the need for operators and manufacturers to evolve amid a changing world. Finally, “Alignment” discusses the need for industry representatives to work together throughout the global supply chain in ensuring the industry continues to thrive.
Jay Chun, Chairman of MGS organizer the Macau Gaming Equipment Manufacturers Association (MGEMA), told IAG the summit will see key representatives present six core topics in 2022, “discussing and interpreting the important changes in the market under the influence of various factors such as Macau’s new gaming law, gambling license re-tendering as well as the pandemic, while examining the current state of development of the industry in other regions in Asia.”
